ArduinnasDawn Group

History

The first contact of the founding members of Arduinna’s Dawn happened on the 30.April 2016 at the Metalfestival in Kopstal. It took about two months to find a complete line-up and have a first rehearsal in a barn close to Echternach. The next months were dominated by difficulties that most starting bands will know: we practiced in bad and difficult to access rehearsal rooms and had several line-up changes.

This troublesome time came to an end in winter 2016-2017, when we signed a Rocklab membership and got access to the rehearsal rooms of Rockhal in Esch. As it was especially difficult to find a fitting keyboarder player, Jimmy, who initially intended to be the singer, decided to set our restless quest to an end and played the keys. The first stable line-up was set and ready to write songs and play live shows: Sarah took over the vocals, Jimmy the keys, Yves the bass, Andy the guitar and Mike the drums.

We felt very comfortable at our new home at Rockhal and became productive. By the end of summer 2017, we had a live-set of 30 minutes. This didn’t remain unnoticed by the Luxembourgish scene, so we were offered to open the Necksplosion Fest II in March 2018. We spent the winter 2017-2018 locked in our rehearsal room in order to prepare for the show. Unfortunately, bad news hit us just a few weeks before our first gig. Sarah told us that she would emigrate to Hungary, so that she wouldn’t be able to be part of the band anymore.

Fortunately, Sarah would stay until Necksplosion Fest, so that we had the opportunity to perform one show together. This turned out to be a bliss for Arduinna’s Dawn. Natascha saw that concert in the audience and she heard that Sarah would leave us and that we were looking for a new singer, so we made a date for an audition. From the first rehearsal on, it was obvious that Natascha would fit in perfectly, so we used the upcoming summer months to rehearse and work on new songs.

In December 2018, we were ready to hit the stage again. This concert was the forerunner of our most successful year so far. In 2019 we played several concerts at bars and festivals in Luxembourg and France. In autumn we made plans to make our first EP and recorded most of the material. Unfortunately, December 2019 brought bad news again. Ongoing personal issues between Yves and the other band members took their toll and he had to leave Arduinna’s Dawn.

A new bassist was quickly found in Gábor, who impressed us in the first audition with his great musicality. As the bassist vacancy was quickly filled and with the tailwind of 2019, we aimed for a similar or even better year 2020. Despite the unfortunate circumstances of 2020 and a set of cancelled concerts, we released our first EP titled "Saturnine Moon" in September, and played our first concert with the new line-up in the winter of 2020.

We have followed up on our first release with concerts through 2021 and 2022, while working on our first full-lenght album behind the scenes. The time spent in rehearsals and the studio came to fruition in 2023, when our first full-lenght album was completed. Our most exquisite work so far, the album will be released on 7 October 2023.
